I have to read a lot each week, these are some works related to collectivenes that i believe to be worth sharing. NO order of preference.

Tools

Collectivness Scale

Leneliness Scale

Escalas sérias levadas ao nível academico que podem ser utilizadas como ferramentas de transformação.

SENNETT, Richard. Together: The Rituals, Pleasures and Politics of Cooperation. London: Penguin Books, 2013.

Rich book and the first one i read for my book on collectivism, a series of arguments full of philosophy to open your mind on how the world works.

AXELROD, Robert M. The Evolution of Cooperation. New York: Basic Books, 1984. ISBN 0‑465‑02122‑2. (Revised edition: December 5, 2006, ISBN 978‑0465005642)

Same vibe as Sennets book and also as interesting.

SOMÉ, Malidoma Patrice. The Healing Wisdom of Africa: Finding Life Purpose Through Nature, Ritual, and Community. New York: Tarcher/Putnam, 1999.

A vision from a spiritual guide about the modern world and the lost of community as sickenning to our people. He talks a lot about ritualism and simbols, and why we need them.

FOUCAULT, Michel. Madness and Civilization: A History of Insanity in the Age of Reason. New York: Vintage Books, 1988.

For the ones interested on going deeper into why the mental health is closely realated to individualistics societies and how social exclusion is used as a tool for power.

Dawkins, R. (2016). The Selfish Gene (40th Anniversary ed.). Oxford University Press.

The basic discovery of Dawkins is that evolution is not working in interest of the species, but in interest of the genes. He walks a lot about how much of our actions and human structures can be more influenced by biology as never before. He explains why cooperation makes plays a big part into our society since its beginning.

HOOKS, bell. Teaching community: a pedagogy of hope. New York: Routledge, 2003.

Talks a lot about the importance of racial segregation into the collectivity theme.

HOOKS, bell. Teaching community: a pedagogy of hope. New York: Routledge, 2003.

Talks a lot about the importance of racial segregation into the collectivity theme. Essencial.

Women, the state, and revolution : Soviet family policy and social life, 1917-1936 (1993)

A historiography of women exploitation and its close relatedness to private property and the capital.

BATESON, Nora. An Ecology of Mind: A Daughter's Portrait of Gregory Bateson. [S.l.]: Mindjazz Pictures, 2010. Filme.

A dokku that i recommend seeing before diving into Batesons phillosophy and work. His book is hard to read without guidance (i am still half way trough it), but basically proposes that we need a new way to understand the world, to supass binarisms and accept life inconstancies. It is hard to explain it and maybe no one will ever be able to, but it is between Deleuze and Guatarris philosophy, buddhism, fenomenology. Totally worth it to have as a epistemic basis to develop analysis on any ecological work.

KANHGÁG, Rejane Paféj. Kanhgang Êg My Há: para uma psicologia Kaingang. 2020. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação) – Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, 2020.

(only in Portuguese) Beautiful dissertation from a Kanhgang about the need for a psychology that supports her community, since psychology nowadays is basically structured toward white and middle class people.

SMITH, K. J.; VICTOR, C. Typologies of loneliness, living alone and social isolation, and their associations with physical and mental health. Ageing and Society, v. 39, n. 8, p. 1709–1730, 2019. DOI: 10.1017/S0144686X18000132.
